Simple Molecules And Complex Chemistry In A Protoplanetary Disk: A JWST Investigation Of The Highly Inclined Disk d216-0939
While the number of detected molecules, particularly complex organic molecules, in the solid-state in astrophysical environments is still rather limited, laboratory experiments and astrochemical models predict many potential candidates.
Ringworlds And Dyson Spheres Can Be Stable
In his 1856 Adams Prize essay, James Clark Maxwell demonstrated that Saturn’s rings cannot be comprised of a uniform rigid body. This is a consequence of the two-body gravitational interaction […]
The PLATO Multiple Star Working Group (MSWG)
The PLATO mission is scheduled for launch in December 2026. It is an ESA M-class mission designed to find small planets around bright stars via the transit technique.
Short-Term Balmer Line Emission Variability in M Dwarfs
M Dwarfs make up the majority of stars, offering an avenue for discovering exoplanets due to their smaller sizes. However, their magnetic activity poses challenges for exoplanet detection, characterization, and […]
A Data-Driven M Dwarf Model and Detailed Abundances for ∼17,000 M Dwarfs in SDSS-V
The cool temperatures of M dwarf atmospheres enable complex molecular chemistry, making robust characterization of M dwarf compositions a long-standing challenge.
X-ray Activity Of Nearby G-, K-, And M-type Stars And Implications for Planet Habitability Around M stars
Context. The intense X-ray and UV emission of some active M stars has raised questions about the habitability of planets around M-type stars. Aims. We aim to determine the unbiased […]
ALMA Observations of CO Isotopologues Towards Six Obscured post-AGB Stars
Low- and intermediate-mass stars evolve through the asymptotic giant branch (AGB), when an efficient mass-loss process removes a significant fraction of their initial mass.
Water-Bearing Objects in the Core of the Rho Ophiuchi Cloud Complex
We present a study of very low-mass stars and brown dwarfs in the rich star-forming core of the Rho Ophiuchi cloud complex. The selection of the sample relies on detecting […]
Enhancing The Detection Of Low-energy M Dwarf Flares: Wavelet-based Denoising Of CHEOPS Data
Stellar flares are powerful bursts of electromagnetic radiation triggered by magnetic reconnection in the chromosphere of stars, occurring frequently and intensely on active M dwarfs.
