NASA Astrobiology Update 20 August 2025

The Astrobiology Program is hosting a virtual NASA Astrobiology Update on Wednesday, August 20th, from 2 – 5pm ET.
This Update will focus on providing information on the current state of the Astrobiology Program, and the opportunities the Program supports in ROSES-25. Following this initial update, an overview of the strategic goals of the Astrobiology Program will be covered, including the status of NASA DARES, and how to best work with the Astrobiology Program for communicating your discoveries.
Finally, our collaborations inside and outside of the Planetary Science Division will be highlighted, discussing the upcoming AbSciCon in 2026, updates on the Habitable Worlds Observatory, an overview of the Moon to Mars initiative from ESDMD, and the Program’s involvement with PESTO and SFL-SAG in their search for life technology studies.
Q&A will follow with the ability to submit questions prior to the event.
Stay tuned for more information on how to join the update meeting, as well as how to submit your questions for the NASA Astrobiology Program.
