We examine images of the protoplanetary disk 114–426 with JWST/NIRCam in 12 bands. This large disk is oriented edge-on with a dark midplane flanked by lobes of scattered light.

Accurate Sticking Coefficient Calculation for Carbonaceous Dust Growth Through Accretion and Desorption in Astrophysical Environments
Context. Cosmic dust is ubiquitous in astrophysical environments, where it significantly influences the chemistry and the spectra. Dust grains are likely to grow through the accretion of atoms and molecules […]
Reactivity Of Chondritic Meteorites Under H2-rich Atmospheres: Formation Of H2S
Current models of chemical evolution during star and planetary formation rely on the presence of dust grains to act as a third body.
Theoretical Investigation of Interstellar 3-Pyrroline: Formation, Rotational and Vibrational Spectroscopy
The recent detection of CN-functionalized aromatics partly addresses the long-standing mystery of the apparent absence of five- and six-membered rings in interstellar environments. N-heterocycles, which are crucial as the fundamental […]
Impact of Ice Growth on the Physical and Chemical Properties of Dense Cloud Cores
We investigated the effect of time-dependent ice growth on dust grains on the opacity and hence on the dust temperature in a collapsing molecular cloud core, with the aim of […]
JOYS+: Link Between Ice And Gas Of Complex Organic Molecules. Comparing JWST and ALMA Data of Two Low-mass Protostars
A rich inventory of complex organic molecules (COMs) has been observed in high abundances in the gas phase toward Class 0 protostars. These molecules are suggested to be formed in […]
Methane Formation Efficiency on Icy Gains: Role of Adsorption States
Methane (CH4) is one of the major components of the icy mantle of cosmic dust prevalent in cold, dense regions of interstellar media, playing an important role in the synthesis […]
Binding Energies of Ethanol and Ethylamine on Interstellar Water Ices: Synergy Between Theory and Experiments
Experimental and computational chemistry are two disciplines to conduct research in Astrochemistry, providing essential reference data for both astronomical observations and modeling. These approaches not only mutually support each other, […]
Icy Ocean Worlds, Plumes, And Tasting The Water
This paper considers how space missions that fly through the plumes known, or suspected, to erupt naturally from some icy ocean worlds (IOW), such as Enceladus, or that aim to […]
Webb Telescope Finds A Wide Variety of Organic Molecules Surrounding Early-stage Protostars
An international team of astronomers using the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope have discovered a variety of molecules, ranging from relatively simple ones like methane to complex compounds like acetic […]
