Oort Lecture: Our Astrochemical Origins

How did the building blocks of life come into existence, and what do they tell us about the origins of our Solar System?
Join us on Tuesday 8 December for Leiden Observatory’s major annual public lecture: the Oort Lecture!
This year’s Oort Professor, Paola Caselli, Director of the Center for Astrochemical Studies at the Max Planck Institute for Extraterrestrial Physics, will take us on a journey through space and time:
From the cold interstellar clouds where molecules first form to the birth of stars and planets, she will explore how organic molecules arise in space and how the building blocks of life may have come together long before Earth existed.
Everyone with an interest in astronomy is welcome to join us at the Academy Building in Leiden or online. The lecture is free of charge, but registration is required.
