RED25: An Astrobiology Introductory Course
RED is a Training School about the “Basics in Astrobiology”. Astrobiology addresses questions related to the origins of life, its evolution, and distribution in the Universe. This school aims to offer an interdisciplinary training in astrobiology to students and young researchers having a master’s degree in astronomy, planetology, geology, chemistry, biology, or history and philosophy of science.
If you are preparing a thesis or are an early career scientist with a subject related to astrobiology, this training school is for you! Each year, the “in-person” edition of the school is held in March in Le Teich (France). In June, a virtual school with the same program is also organized.
The RED school will take place in Le Teich (FR from March 16 to 22, 2025. Its objective is to offer an interdisciplinary training in astrobiology to students and young scientists preparing a thesis in astronomy, planetology, geology, chemistry, biology, or history and philosophy of sciences, linked with the themes of astrobiology.
Thanks to the support of the school’s partners, almost all registration fees can be covered. Do not hesitate to ask for a grant when you apply to the school. Only transport will be the responsibility of the participants.
Registration for the 2025 edition is now open until December 20, 2024: https://red-astrobiology.fr
A “complete” RED training is scheduled over 2 years, but each year is autonomous. You can attend once or two years in a row. All courses are in English.
The school benefits from the following supports: European Astrobiology Institute, CNES, PEPR Origins, RRI Origins U. Bordeaux, IPSL, OSU EFLUVE, Education & Training in Astrobiology of IAU, and the French Astrobiology Society.
