SUMMARY:2027 Sagan Summer Workshop Exoplanet Masses: In the Era of Gaia and Extreme Precision Radial Velocities
DESCRIPTION:The workshop will be hybrid\, with both in-person and remote attendance. The Sagan Summer Workshops are aimed at advanced undergraduate students\, graduate students\, and postdocs; however\, we welcome attendees at all career stages. There is no registration fee for these workshops.

SUMMARY:STScI James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Summer School II
DESCRIPTION:The STScI James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) Summer School II — from August 2 to 13\, 2027 — will focus on exoplanet transits\, eclipses\, and phase curves with JWST. Early career scientists\, new JWST researchers\, and researchers new to the field are encouraged to apply. \nThe school will last two weeks: the first week will feature engaging lectures on the science of exoplanets and their atmospheres; the second week will focus on observational and analytical techniques\, where participants will learn how to create JWST programs\, analyze time-series observations of transiting exoplanets\, and extract the full scientific potential of JWST data. \nJWST has revolutionized exoplanet science by using advanced infrared instruments to study the atmospheres\, temperatures\, and chemistry of planets outside our solar system. Exoplanet science accounts for approximately 25% of JWST science observations\, making it one of the largest drivers of the observatory’s scientific program. \nThe exoplanet community has demonstrated the precision of JWST time-series observations across a wide range of planetary environments and established new approaches for observing\, reducing\, and interpreting complex datasets. \nThe JWST Summer School II will prepare participants for both the current state and future direction of exoplanet science as the field moves toward increasingly challenging observations. \nApplications will open in February-March 2027. For more information\, please visit the event webpage https://www.stsci.edu/contents/events/stsci/2027/august/jwst-summer-school-ii-exoplanet-transits-eclipses-and-phase-curves-with-jwst or contact the event organizers https://www.stsci.edu/contents/news/jwst/2026/save-the-date-for-jwst-summer-school-ii . \nScience Organizing Committee \nNatasha Batalha (NASA Ames)\nTaylor Bell (STScI)\nStacey Bright (STScI)\nKnicole Colon (NASA Goddard)\nLisa Dang (University of Waterloo)\nJean Dupuis (CSA)\nEmma Esparza-Borges (ESAC)\nChris Evans (ESA)\nMacarena Garcia Marin (STScI/ESA)\nCarlos Gascon (STScI)\nMonika Lendl (University of Geneva)\nMercedes Lopez-Morales (STScI)\nRafael Luque (Instituto de Astrofísica de Andalucía)\nLuis Welbanks (Arizona State University)\nQiao Xue (University of Chicago) \nAstrobiology\, Astrochemistry\, Astronomy\,
