SUMMARY:2nd European Interstellar Symposium
DESCRIPTION:Hosted by The Venetian Institute of Sciences\, Letters and Arts in association with The Interstellar Research Group and The International Academy of Astronautics. \nThe aim is to bring together a multi-disciplinary community dedicated to advancing interstellar travel. Producing symposiums that include Special Sessions\, Keynote Lectures\, Working Tracks\, Seminars\, science fiction author engagement and more. \nThe exploration of other stars and what lies between them (e.g. interstellar objects) is crucial not only for understanding the formation of stars\, planets\, galaxies\, and the search for extraterrestrial life\, but also for ensuring the safety of our planet and the future of humanity. \nOur objective is to foster an exchange on various aspects of interstellar travel\, including human and robotic exploration\, power systems\, communications\, system reliability\, psychology\, crew health\, anthropology\, legal regimes\, ethics\, propulsion\, potential destinations (including exoplanet research)\, life support systems\, and habitats.

SUMMARY:Life And Space 2026
DESCRIPTION:Three days. Six major topics. One question connecting them all: what can science tell us about life in the Universe? From 4–6 December 2026\, the Polish Astrobiology Society invites you to the next edition of the international Life And Space Conference – LAS26. \n– 100% online\n– 3 days of science\n– 10 + 5 min presentation format\n– Researchers\, students and science enthusiasts from different disciplines\n– Participation fee: $25 USD \nThis year\, LAS26 will explore:\n– Origins and Evolution of Life\n– Planetary Exploration and the Search for Life\n– Space Biotechnology and Human Exploration\n– Artificial Intelligence and Digital Astrobiology\n– Space\, Society and Education\n– Interdisciplinary Astrobiology \nFrom prebiotic chemistry and extremophiles to biosignatures\, space medicine\, biotechnology\, AI and digital twins – Life And Space is where different disciplines meet to explore one of the biggest scientific questions of all: life itself. \nWhether you are an experienced researcher\, an early-career scientist or a student taking your first steps in astrobiology\, LAS26 is a place to present your work\, exchange ideas and make new scientific connections. \n– Registration opens: 1 October 2026\n– Conference: 4–6 December 2026\n– astrobio.pl/LAS26

SUMMARY:Community Workshop: The Mission to Enceladus - The ESA L4 Mission
DESCRIPTION:The community workshop at ESTEC focused on “The Mission to Enceladus – The ESA L4 Mission” will be held at ESTEC December 8-10\, 2026. \nThe workshop will have a dual focus. Firstly\, ESA will provide the community with updates on the study results conducted with the support of the L4 Expert Committee\, the L4 Payload Working Group and industrial partners. Secondly\, the community will have the opportunity to present their concepts and ideas for L4 payloads. \nThis workshop marks our transition into the next phase of the L4 preparation. \nGiven the long timeline of the mission with a landing on Enceladus in the second half of the 2050s we encourage the active participation of scientists in early career stages. A limited number of travel bursaries of 500 Euro each will be available for students and PhD candidates who will present at the workshop. \nTo apply for this\, first register for the workshop and then click ‘Yes’ to the Student travel bursary question on the abstract submission form. \nRegistration and abstract submission close on 13 September 2026 at midnight. \nGiven the strong interest we expect\, it may only be possible to confirm in-person participation by the end of September. The workshop will be fully hybrid\, so online participation will be available in all cases. \nOne aspect that is particularly important to us is engaging the next generation of researchers. With an Enceladus landing envisioned for the second half of the 2050s\, many of today’s early-career scientists will be the ones leading the science when we arrive. We therefore strongly encourage participation from students and early-career researchers. \nTo support this\, a limited number of €500 travel bursaries from ESA Space Science will be available for students and PhD candidates presenting at the workshop. To apply\, simply register for the workshop and select “Yes” to the Student Travel Bursary question during abstract submission.
