A Space Droid Looks Back At Home On Its Way Into Interstellar Space
Voyager 1 looks back at Earth and its Moon — NASA

On this date, 18 Sep 1977, Voyager 1 took a departure angle picture of our home world and its large moon from a distance of 7 million miles.

47 years later this ad hoc starship is now 15 billion miles away in interstellar space and still following commands from the grandchildren of the humans who sent it out.

Our droids are starfarers.
