A Clay-Rich Mound In An Eroded Plateau On Mars
These mounds contain bright-toned material which have been found to be clay-bearing with data from the CRISM instrument on MRO.
This particular example contains both aluminum and iron/magnesium bearing clays.
These regions of bright-toned material are layered down to the meter scale and are heavily fractured, reminiscent of the clay-bearing deposits at Mawrth Vallis.
